Why we make it this way

The largest white round we make. It takes a 12 inch cake with a proper margin, or it becomes the base drum under a tiered build where every tier above sits on its own board cut to diameter. At this size the board is carrying real weight, so the half-inch laminate is doing a job rather than adding thickness.

White keeps a large cake looking light, which is harder than it sounds once a bake gets past a foot across. Grease resistant face, flat on arrival, and best stored flat and dry until the day it is needed.
